180 days!
Today is my 180th day and just a few days shy of 6 months! My throat problems still bug me a bit but not as much as before! Once I got a clear diagnosis of no cancer from my ENT I started to feel better although I still have swallowing problems. In these 180 days, I will have walked 1000km soon and apart from my throat problems and cough, I feel great! If I could quit and stay quit, anyone can! It gets easier everytime although I do sometimes miss having that smoke and time to myself. But when I start missing those moments, I think of the health scare I had and think about how dying of cancer or COPD or any other smoking related disease would feel like. I love the fact that I’m not spending any money on those cancer sticks and that I don’t have to keep washing my jackets etc as often because I no longer reak like smoke! Life as a non smoker is MUCH better. To those just starting out, take it one day at a time, it does get easier and easier everyday and before you know it, you too will be celebrating, half a year, a year, 2 years etc of no smoking!

180 Days is GREAT but don't do a 180 and start again. I doubt very much that taking up smoking again would fix your swallowing problems. There are so many benefits to quitting smoking that I would never go back. Understanding that there is really nothing to go back to except to play Russian roulette. I would rather play the wheel of fortune, as so far its been great! Again Congratulations on 189 Days and a great attitude!

Congratulations Smokeless, 180 days quit is no mean feat, so keep on going as you have done, just remember that thinking or wishing for something which is not only harmful but so easily taken up again, Not somking is beneficial for you health, your bank balance, and feeling in control of your body. NOPE (not one puff ever). Try this on every day and it will help you maintain your decision.
