Do you get withdrawal when you stop the patch?

schedule 24 Sep 2020

Its all in the mind, but you might experience fear before giving up the patch, not when you actually give them up. It is the thought process only not the actual situation, so just like unwelcome thoughts or unwelcome visitors Brush them off! Let them go! Continue on with whatever has worked for you, you will gradually be so proud of yourself for being stronger than you first thought. NOPE (not one puff ever)

An interesting question. While NRT contains nicotine, so you still need to get through that part of non=smoking, I do remember Pisces.

Pisces thought she was weak and pathetic when she came to us. Scared and afraid of the quitting process. She grasped the mindset we spoke of and was so confident that smoking was a thing of the past that she threw away her patches and had NO CRAVINGS! While I quit cold turkey and had no cravings at all once the nicotine was out of my system (72 hours) I had always wondered the same question.

The longest and probably hardest part is the psychological part or Mindset. However, I swear that once you WANT to quit you will. No amount of hounding will force you or help you quit. Understanding you and nicotine is vital . Oh you can stop by willpower, counting the days....but you are free when you know you are done in you heart. DESIRE freedom more than that fix. That's what it is in truth....albeit legal... a DRUG.

Change how you view smoking and change your mind. Be a Pisces.....prove my theory.

What is a withdrawal symptom anyway? It might be a teeny weeny feeling of insecurity for a few seconds, then it passes.

Withdrawls are like a tap on the shoulder and a reminder to "Feed Me". When they occur, you know that you are finally in control. You have the power to ignore it and move on. Nicotine withdrawls are more likely because it is a drug that your body has become dependent on to feel normal..... which is not really normal.....we were not meant to inhale smoke into our lungs. It is awesome to feel normal without the smokes.

A withdrawl I associate more with nicotine, while a craving is just a thought of what you once did. Do not debate what if, .......NOPE....just tell yourself that you have chosen to be a non-smoker , ignore the thought and move on. Have things at the ready to occupy your mind elsewhere whether it be a phone call or a game. You will be amazed at how quickly it will pass then. It will be longer before he comes abeggin again!
