Champix fourth week and although I've cut down a lot I've still been smoking a bit. However today is the first time I've actually felt the same when I smoke as when I've not had one. This is encouraging to me. I'm surprised to learn that for some people champix can take up to four weeks and I guess I'm just one of those people! So new quit date is Saturday, please wish me luck 👍

I was wondering if anyone can answer this question for me please? After I quit smoking on champix and finish my three month treatment will I have to go through nicotine withdrawal all over when I quit champix? It worries me. Than you

schedule 18 Sep 2020

You will be fine vincent, the thought is worse than the action. I was on Champix and had those thoughts, so do not worry, keep on researching how Nicotine is so addictive, you will have many thoughts during this process, but just bat them away. Remember NOPE (not one puff ever)

schedule 18 Sep 2020

Hi Vincent. No you will not go through nicotine withdrawl once off of the Champix course. Nicotine is basicallly out of your system in about 72 hours.

After sleeping 8 hours there is only about 7% of the nicotine left in your system. So weeks later, you are definitely free of nicotine. However, the psychological adjustment of accepting your new life as a non-smoker takes some toll. This is why people crave long after quitting nicotine. Read and learn how to embrace the wonderful rewards of being smoke free. They are glorious and can help you through with fewer hardships.
