schedule 1 Aug 2020

I quite smoking 1 week ago, I decided to do it cold turkey... this past week I’ve been suffering with some symptoms, I’ve been getting discomfort in my abdomen&back ( on & off), also joint pain (knees&elbows&wrists) I’ve been on the phone to my doctor today and she said these are normal and to wait a week and see if they improve... I went on a 3 hour walk with my son in his pram yesteday which I think has made my aches& pains worse, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? And what helps or do I need to worry? Thankyou in advance for any help

Welcome Lauren-1999 and Congratulations on one week smoke free, it is good you have your doctor on your side, it might be the long 3 hour walk that causes some of your discomfort, it you are not used to it.

Walking is a great exercise and you and your son will benefit greatly from this activity, just make sure you have a warm bath or shower to ease the aches and pains, but keep on walking even if it is less than 3 hours. Keep in touch.

We tend to want to eercise with full enthusiasm ut don't work up to it. Muscles we havent used come into play. This will dampen our spirits and we may set it aside to e forgotten ( like my sticky letters on an old keyoard at the cottage) Continue to walk . I came to love it. A good havit to replace our undesireale smoking voids is a very helpful tool. Keep up the good work!
