Hi everyone just filling you all in.

I do have a friend who is still a smoker and in allen carrs book he said carry on seeing your friends and be social and not to change anything so I didn't change anything and went to see my friend.

I can't really put my finger on what's happening but I went to see her sitting with her as she had her ciggeratie and yes I would of like to had 1 but there was something saying no no you don't want to go back to square 1, you have just had surgery, do you really want to smoke that ciggeratie just to fill that void that the ciggeratie is causing? Mmm no I don't want to smoke. And I didn't smoke and I have been with this friend for few days now and I am getting through them days without smoking.

The feeling I get when I come home after having tea with her is great. I didn't smoke I actually got through it and didn't cave. And that is not like me not to cave and I think gosh I must be stronger than I give myself credit for.

11 days and counting cold turkey.

If I do say so I think it is because I went cold turkey

Where as before I had the patch and before I got to my friends house the patch would be off and I would be smoking. But because i went cold turkey something different is happening this time and I can't really tell you what that is yet.

Not so much of an urge to want to smoke.

Yes some craving but nothing I can't handle as I have just proven to myself this last couple of days.

I'm very positive and I can do this and as a treat for day 11 I got my nails done 🙂♥️ we all deserve a great treat when we stop smoking.

I feel and smell so much fresher and I'm sure my partner now also noticed I am feeling much better and fresher.

Keep going everyone

We have got this

Your suppprt and stories is really giving me the courage to keep going and pushing through this. ♥️♥️🚭🚭 NOPE not one puff EVER

Good for you Gemma, you are doing so much better than me at your stage, I thought I could take it or leave it until one day I could't leave it. (You can see how our brains rationalize our decisions) Of course there was no forum at that stage for me. Even now when I see someone smoking I get that old feeling of (I want to join in) How silly is this, I laugh at myself sometimes. I am more aware now of course and watch my feelings come and go.

Stay close to the forum and congratulations for resisting the pull of your friend.

Softly40 the brain is an amazing thing but i wont let it defeat me this time round with smoking. There is something strong inside not letting me have that ciggeratie.

No giving in now I have almost reached the 2 week mark

Thanks for the support.

Keep on going the way you are Gemma. You are giving up smoking, not giving up your life or your friends. I quit with hubby smoking in his chair right next to me. He quit two weeks later after reading Allan Carr. We go out on break at poker and socialize with our smoking friends. We get to stretch our legs and get some fresh air ( if we don't stand too close to them) lol.... it didn't bother us one bit. We are proud to be non-smokers after 40 years!

I finally get to go back to work tomorrow after recovering from surgery

I had my thyroid removed and now waiting for results as to what the nodules where inside the thyroid I find these results on Monday 🤞 fingers crossed it's nothing to serious.

my 2 weeks of recovering is done on Monday coming but I am back to.work Saturday

Light duties. I think if I can sit at home for 2 weeks board out of my mind and not smoke I can do it anywhere I go.

P.s who doesn't love fresh air and yes I could smell the ciggeraties of my friend smoking and I though gosh is that what it really smells like? Is that what I use to smell like. It's not a nice smell atal for a ciggeratie.

I hope your first day back at work went well. I imagine your coworkers were happy to see you back safely and probably some envious that you were able to quit smoking. Seeing is believing, so perhaps you will become an inspiration to someone else. Anyone can quit smoking. Just believe.
