2nd Chance at life

This past week was rough, I’ve been feeling chest tightness at times with shortness of breath and got a x-ray for peace of mind. Doctor called and said I had an abnormal mass and ordered a CT scan for a closer look. 2 days on antibiotics and 7 days later I did the scan and they said my lungs were perfect it must have been an issue with the x-ray. 30 years old and I thought I had cancer...
My anxiety got the best of me this past week, but now I truly believe that week was a test. Undoubtedly my most vulnerable point yet, and I made it through. :)
I’m thankful that I truly put poison in my body for 13 years, and I have been given a second chance. A life of smoking is torture for your body. I can say that it’s worth all the pains and anxious moments to know that despite how I may feel, I’m healthier now than ever.
Now I just have to figure out how to deal with this anxiety and stress :)

Great job!n Great attitude! Stress and anxiety can be dealt with meditation, exercise, relaxation and even food. Deep breaths are simple and can be done anywhere. Did you know that a few deep breaths will lower your blood pressure quickly. Smoking has never helped ease stress. In fact the worry of money, time, smell and our health caused by the negatives of smoking induce stress rather than relieve it. Look at the positives in your life rather than negatives or that of which you have no control. Smile and the world will smile back.

You have done so well Mwest. I am glad you went to your doctor and obtained a good result, this leaves the way clear for your breathing and meditation practice which lowers the blood pressure and helps keep you calm in any situation. Indeed this has helped me in many situations and will skill you up for any future problems in life that you encounter, we might not be able to control everything but we can control ourselves and how we deal with it. NOPE (not one puff ever)

Thank you both for your support! I tried meditation today and it helped. I also find that when I feel anxious going for a run clears my mind and sets me back on the straight and narrow. :) I believe activity is the key to my success.

I feel the same symptoms as you and I still feel the same I have 80 days clean and I think that I am better with the passege of time but its hard sometimes I would like to know what are you going and how do you feel today
PD: I am learn to speak english since I dont smoke to be focus in something else sorry if you have problems to understand me
