1 month smoke free!

I had a couple of tough days due to some personal problems but did not pick up a cigarette. It is amazing how the brain works. As soon as you have a negative event in your life, your mind wonders off to smoking. That connection is so strong and I think that I might have to fight it after many years of stopping. But even after a month I can honestly say that it is worth it. I used to have pain in my back and chest.Always tried to convince myself that it wasn’t my lungs and it was just my muscles from trainning. But no. It was my lungs and probably my heart too. Now, nothing. I suggest people having difficulties and cravings to take notes of things they notice with their bodies during the process. Like a diary. I started doing that and it really helps noticing the good stuff and prevents you from bouncing back to the old habit. I also want to thank everyone here who replies with very positive comments and share their quit journey. It really does help! Peace ✌️

G'day Drmem89, congratulations on 1 month free from the slavery of nicotine. Today i'm 4 months free, and although i didnt have many painful experiences in the first few days, after 2-3 weeks i began having bizarre dreams! They have passed now and I spend my time with diet and exercise. Very rarely now do i think about smoking, but when i do I distract myself with positive thoughts and actions. Well Done

Hello mandella. Had the mad dreams stage the first couple of weeks too. I used to wake up in the middle of the night for no reason as well. Had some hard time going back to sleep when I did. I have been dieting and exercising from day 1. Kept me quite motivated and distracted. The main issue for me now is that I am going back to my practice in a couple of days. My hectic schedule was mostly the reason I smoked. I must find a way to distract myself in between patients. Hopefully I will! Congratulations on your 4 months. It is just amazing 👏

It is always great to hear of another success story in the making. You have great attitude, and I have no doubt that you will find something contructive to do between patients when you go back to the office. Good Job

Drmem89 well done, you have amazingly well, pleased that you are going back to your practice, be an inspiration to your patients and pass on your knowledge. Develop new positive habits at your practice, and I know you can do it with your determination x

Thank you guys so much. I hope that it will be as easy as it was at home. I start tomorrow!

Keep us informed on how your first day back at your practice went, good luck

Hey! It was a really good day. Had no cravings and I was not tempted to smoke. So its all good. Ah and the app says I havent smoked 1021 cigarettes this month. This is amazing and really cheers me up! Thank you for the support. Much appreciated 🙏
