Posted in Quit experiences
schedule 25 Apr 2020

I stopped smoking cold turkey and everything about my health seems new from the way I breath to body aches here and there, I can feel my pulse almost everywhere on my body. Please I want to know if itโ€™s normal my muscle hurts, they keep tingling, I keep burping and flatulence. Is anyone else going tru this?

schedule 25 Apr 2020

Hi katty404. Your body probably just needs time to adjust. Everyone experiences are different. If you have long lasting concern, seek medical advice. Isn't it wonderful to be able to breathe better though? A great indicator of better things to follow. Keep up the good work!

schedule 25 Apr 2020

Welcome Katty404, as Happiness pointed out it is early days and your body is adjusting to the changes, I had problems with my digestion which took me on the road of adjusting my diet at the same time, You are a lot younger than me so this might not apply to you, I might suggest drinking lots more water and thinking about some exercises. Keeping your mind on your goals long term is one of the best ways to motivate yourself through any discomfort. Well done

schedule 25 Apr 2020

Hi Katty404, Yes, I think its reasonable to be in all-sorts of discomfort, like insomnia, muscle aches n pains, eating habits, burping, farting, high pulse and even huge blood pressure fluctuations are on the cards in the early days.

Get thru day by day and you'll be past most of this in another week.

We are all different, but, all Quitters get over it eventually. Personally every week the intensity of withdrawal keeps getting smaller.

stick with it

schedule 26 Apr 2020

Interesting, I am on Day 6 of quitting cold turkey. I have had some headaches, light headedness and chest pain, coughing up phlegm since I quit. But starting to notice that my send of smell is improving (weird as I never realised my senses were dulled before). My cravings for a smoke have really decreased the last few days but instead I am experiencing more abstract anxiety, restlessness and low mood/depression on and off. I am relatively content one minute and then feel seriously low the next....always around late afternoon. So strange as I thought the nights would have been harder for me as that is when I most liked to smoke. Very much looking forward to getting some equillibrium back and still motivated as never want to go through this again!
