Headaches - Ouch!

Hi,
I’m on day 18 of no cigarettes - I went cold turkey after smoking for close to 3 years & mostly 1 packet of 25’s or 20’s a day. After day two I started getting headaches - today I have a huge headache - ouch!! How long approximately do the headaches last after you give up - I’m fighting to keep my sanity! I’m also experiencing fatigue but having trouble sleeping at night, body aches, tight Jaw, dry mouth & mouth ulcers. Am determined to quit for good this time but by god with these withdrawal symptoms - especially the headaches - it’s super hard.

Im pretty sure what you are describing is pretty normal. I quit 8 weeks ago, and just stopped with the flu lije symptoms and mouth ulcers about a week ago. I think we suffer as its the body going into shock from the withdrawel. Headaches is annoying, drink plenty of water and get a good mouth wash. Hang in there Bess5 you are doing awesome, it may be a battle now but its so worth it to get your freedom back. Stay strong and treat yourself a little reward with some of that saved cash

Thanks so much Leeann & Nuts for your kind words & encouragement - I really appreciate your encouragement / thanks! :))

Hi Bess5
I had some bad headaches on and off in my first 10 days or so. I'm not much of a pill popper, so I found 2 panadol would ease it,,,,, I had to add 2 nuerofen to that in addition a few times and that fixed it a lot better.
As far as the sleeping patterns go,,,,,,,I'm still struggling with that unfortunately............
I know what your going through, as I am only 5 or so days in front of you,
Stay super head strong , determined and drink litres of water and plenty of good healthy food
all the best

I wish I had the answer but I hope you will see this through. It is so worth whatever hardships. Welcome and all the best!

I was plagued with headaches and still sometimes get one. I have been drinking chamomile tea to help with sleeping which is helping. Also, getting more exercise through the day helps with sleep too.

Hi everyone
I quit 5 days ago all the time wearing a nicotine patch and using the Quick mist spray every half to one hour. The real test for me is to avoid buying a packet of smokes when I get paid. My cravings are mild considering I would smoke 50 a day on most days. I’ve been smoking for 35 years and am beginning to feel free of the scourge of smoking. Any feedback would be of use to help me to stay smoke free. Thanks.
