I dont smoke

wow here I am Day 23 doing remarkably well. My sleep isnt the best. I wake up at least 4 times a night. My body temp rises to a light sweat, then goes back down again. {not sure if thats a quit smoking thing or my age lol }. Im wide awake at 4am every morning but dont want to get up as I have nothing to get up for anymore. my mood is temperamental and i have the ability to talk a million miles per hour but I am aware of it. Ive read online these things might disappear by week 5. Still determine tho. I dont smoke.

You are doing great dstfry! You don't smoke. Isn't that a wonderful feeling overall. It is so nice to have our time as our own witihout having to interrupt meet ups and social activities with a smoke fix. I sure don't miss standing in the rain or windy, cold weather. I still get up to stretch my legs and join my smoking friends, but I smile and heat for warmth knowing I have a choice.
Quitting smoking is a choice we made , each for our own reasons. Stay true to your desire to be free of the horrible addiction that ruled us for years. You are worth the effort and all the benefits that you will reap.
I know you hate those herbal smokes that you started the journey with as your aid. Are you still using any at all? Breaking the hand to mouth habit , as you well know is best broken at this time. You know this , but I write, as I have explain, for the benefit of others too.
Again Congratulations . I know you've got this as long as you stay positive.

I had one herbal smoke this afternoon {well 1/2 one} a telephone call tempted me outside. the first one in a week. I dont like them anymore. the call was a business call that was stressful. I know next time this staff member calls me, ill go sit out the back instead of my smoking chair outside. I have no intention of ever smoking cigarettes again. I feel too good.

Being an herbal smoke and not nicotine is not so very harmful to your quest . I am glad that it worked for you and that you had the sense to use it as quit aid and not deemed as "healthy substitute". We have to do the quitting, not the aids. Using them as directed is a good start.... and with a forum like this increases the likelihood of success. That is why i am forever saying knowledge is power.
You've got this dstfry123. Stay positive and stay feeling good. How does it feel to be an inspiration to others? Pretty damned good !

Hi dstfry123. You posed a question on a member's post (Keep going) with concerns of a cough after being a month quit. Most of us experience it i gather although I , myself did not and had concerns for that reason. Every one is different. Of course if it persists or is of great concern see your doctor.
You're doing great! Enjoy another smoke free day today!

You are doing a great job don't have the herbal cigarettes.. You need to retrain your brain triggers. I'm on Day 2 so not even half pretending to be an expert, but from what I've read so far it's the psychological triggers that are the hardest to beat. That's my focus as that's my biggest problem. I didn't ever WANT to say No! Now I am on Dat 2 which for me to is an amazing achievement.

Hi Pisces24.
I havent had a herbal now since my last post on the 27th Nov. Im on day 34 now and the thought process is changing. Im surprised I dont think about it much at all. I once was on Day 2 myself and I was determined to get to Day 3. My positive mindset has helped the psychological side, the herbals helped with the habit and being so much healthier and happier with my breathing has contributed to my journey so far. my affirmations I dont smoke, Id say to myself everytime it crossed my mind. And I continue not too.
