Taste buds
HI,
Did anyone else experience metal taste in their mouth and everything taste like metal?
I know that I am getting my taste buds back. But the metal taste is something new.

Hello Kerril.68 I have not heard of this whilst on this site so i googled it and quit.org had a blog when i googled Smoking and metal taste. Only a few responses, but i gather it only lasts a short time and is your body ridding of toxins. If you were to spit into a clean white tissue, it is said that you may even see the black specks...gunk that adhered to our lungs.
I had become concerned because I had never had a coughing spell or bring up this unwanted gunk since quitting. After almost a year I am having the odd cough and bit of flem. Not sure what the reason is , but I do know that the strength of my cough has returned. That had been a mild concern earlier for me. Now that my lungs have recovered I am hoping for another winter free of cold and flu.

I have never experienced this kerrit.68, but I have tasted bile in my mouth once in my life which was not related to non smoking. It would appear if any black Mucas is present than a Doctors visit is in order. It looks as if you are starting to regain your taste experiences. Which happens during the early days to some people, Congratulations on taking this step and posting, do keep in touch.
