17 days cold turkey

after 30 years of smoking I truly got tired of being winded and tired of smelling like an ashtray! I got tired of cigarettes controlling me!
Today is day 17 and I've done it all cold turkey! I'm a little dizzy today and have insomnia but I am taking each day minute by minute.

You are doing sooo great at day 17,
Taking each day as it comes is all that can be asked from you.
You have mentioned of not smelling like an ashtray, that would definatley be one
of the greatest of bonuses.

Great attitude Born2b50. Every day the journey gets easier and you are nailing it. Short term pain for long term gain. So worth it!

stay strong, keep tell yourself that you wanted to do it, as for the next 5 weeks will still be very tough, but do not tempted to have enough puff. keep youself busy, eat pieces of fresh veggie/fruit or drink plenty of water. do no get into self pity. I have tried at least dozen times before this one. but I am 1 year and 8 month smoke free. you can no believe how grateful I am now.

Hello born 2b50 I can remember counting every day and hour. It's a tough road but the worst is over for you and may have some rough days but you are over the hump and it just gets better until you forgot how long it's been and even forget to miss smoking. I quit cold turkey also January so 10 months ago. Just keep doing what ever it takes to make it through and your body will be thanking you for it. I PROMISE!

Hi Born2b50. You might think the larger digits are better than yours. Wrong! Anyone who has lasted longer than you knows how difficult those early days are. Gets easier with every passing day. Power to you. Minute by minute, day by day, enjoy the ride. Savour each milestone, especially those that mean something to you. This quit trail is not a competition. Anyone reading your post who has more days, weeks, months or years more than you will be hoping that you will persevere.

thank you all for the support, today is day 20 and for some reason has been a difficult morning for me! I have been really dizzy the past few days, and also have not coughed up anything....Hoping this is all normal..

Im just wondering how long the insomnia lasts, I noticed your on day 17 and have insomnia, its been 4 days for me and no sleep for the last two nights?
