It's no cake walk but it gets easier

It has now been 10 months since I had a cigarette. I was smoking a pack a day and 1 day I just stopped with the aid of nicotine patches. The first 6 weeks were the hardest. At 4 weeks I was very anxious but i thought that it would be a huge waste to get this far and start smoking again. It is by no means easy but after 6 week the cravings started to subside. I still get the occasional feel for 1 but I really don't want to go back. This was the last of several attempts to quit too.

Hi to you Archer 73, welcome to the forum and congratulations on achieving 10 months. I am glad you have decided this is the last time for you, you learn more about yourself as you go along and I am sure you will be able to help others on their own journey. I too have tried a few times, but this time is long term for me simply because I don't want to go back to square one again.
May you continue to have good feelings about yourself and others. Well done.

Great job Archer. I am right behind you and hope i never catch up to you! Keep thinking positive and visiting the forum to remember why you chose this path and how many benefits that you have been rewarded with.

Hi guys
I’ve decided to be kind to myself and decided to stop smoking . I’m feeling nervous as I am determined to stop this habit which causes me anxiety everyday . As much as I like to smoke , I know now is the right time to move forward and be free from this habit .. can’t wait to share my journey with you all
