Hello guys, this is the second time i post here about my quitting experience and i gladly can say that today i am 291 days smoke free. Just to remind some of you that maybe might remember me, i am 22 years old now (i was 21 when i first posted) and i haven't smoked since October 2018. Basically there were no major reasons that i quit i simply came to an understanding and decided that smoking was not doing me anything good in life but simply destroying my health making me smell bad, and of course costing me everyday. I smoked for ~7 years since i was 14 and i would smoke around 17-18 cigarettes a day. The beginning was extremly hard but if you make up your mind probably there is nothing you can't do and it worked perfectly fine for me. I decided and made a promise that i would not smoke anymore and i did not. The thing pushing me the most through this battle was the thought of feeling completed every night when i went home and feeling like i really achieved something great for the day. The hardest part was the first month, the cravings were really really bad and i barely could stop myself from smoking but here i am guys, smoke free and i feel 100 times better and i am so glad that i stood strong at the time. If i did it i do not see any reason why you cannot do it, the only thing in the way is our brain. Cheers to everyone out there trying to quit and stay strong.

So wise at such a young age SFR. Your future is much brighter and healthier without the slavery of smoking which isn't even cool as it was in our day. Most of us come to the realization after decades of tempting fate that our days will truly be numbered if we don't change our ways. Thankfully, much of our health can be restored to make our days more enjoyable. I love hearing success stories such as yours. I am so proud of you.

Hi SFR. You are to be congratulated for making that decision. You are so fortunate not to be smoking into your 50's and 60's as so many on this site have been... It used to be "cool" Not so now. Being a social outcast in one's youth is definitely not so "cool".

Your posting makes me so warm and overjoyed that you were able to see smoking for what it really is at such a young age! I tried to quit around 18 as well and was unsuccessful. It took me an additional 22 years of being a slave and thousands (if not over a 100 thousand!) dollars before I quit. You have not only quit smoking (very important), but you have also proven to yourself that you can get through pretty much any situation. This will help you in so many ways in the future. I hope you realize, understand and celebrate your accomplishment. Outstanding !
