Hi all,

I’m 29 and I have decided to quit smoking since 10 days ago and I’m still on it.

I wanna go and see a doctor to check how much damage has been done during these 8 damn years of smoking! But there is something that is scaring me!

It’s been 2 days that I’ve been having heart pains and my chest is heavy!

Before quitting I didn’t have any of these problems.

Anybody here has the same experience?

Hi Fae. Well done on your 10 day quit. Regarding your chest pain don't leave it any longer...go to the doctor and have it checked out. It may be nothing but better to know.

Thanks for your response. I will go ASAP!

It’s so sad what we’ve done to our body despite of knowing its danger... I’m scared :(

Hi Fae, definately go to your doctor as FreshAir suggests. Our bodies seem to go through an adjustment when you first quit mine went through a tight chest and feeling tired but I just rested when I needed to. We are all different but its best to be on the safe side and make that appointment. Keep up your commitment well done for 10 days.

Thank you all for your kind response and support... It was kind of relief that you told me you had the same experience and it was ok...I will definitely see a doctor in couple of days and inform you about the result.

Why wait a couple of days to see the doctor Fae? Go now. You do not need this added anxiety when you are doing so well. It is probably nothing, and once you are assured it is nothing the pains will subside. I once thought i had a fish bone stuck in my throat, once assured it stopped bothering me.

Our psychological mind can be tricky as can be the Nicotine monster. That habit part of smoking that has been ingrained into our daily lives is the part we need to feel differently about. Learn how to let go and to move on with your life without the cigarettes. They did nothing but cause misery in reality.

I am impressed that you are so wise and taking this journey that many of us coward from for decades. Kudos to you. Now be brave and go see your doctor. The truth can be liberating!
