Hi everyone i have been an active member of this site for just under 3yrs now...the time i have been quit. I chatted with some realistic members over time such names as Dobbin, Lia, Steve just to name some. From my understanding they all went on to become non smokers. For all the people in progress of quitting i can only advise you to stay with it. Hard i kid you not but does get easier with determination. Ask yourself "what does smoking do beneficially for me"? I am sure you cannot answer honestly that it does you good. No matter if you have smoked for 1yr or 50yrs....giving up will really make you healthier and richer. Just say the party is OVER and carry on as if you were a non smoker. I did and now find after almost three years quit i feel better and get no urges or envy smokers. I had started as a macho kid and smoked for 52yrs...but smoking was catching up to me and believe me they will catch up to you. Anyway just thought I pass my advice on and hope it may help many. Cheers.

Hi Johnnie. Remember you well. Good to see you are still here with those firmly on the quit path. Yes, am approaching 4 years at the end of this month. I like your reference to the notion "the party is over". Health, acceptance and greater wealth should be wake up calls to anyone asking themselves why the heck they are smoking. Let's hope the success rate goes above 4%.

Hello again Lia always nice to chat with you . Yes these days i find that because i don't think about smoking i actually lose track of this site. However when i look back on my early days i do remember what each individual is going through and do sign in from time to time to offer my encouragement. The 4% you mentioned will eventually increase as people become more and more effected with the downsides of smoking because the enjoyment quickly fades as it did with me from what i experienced especially when walking up steep grades. Don't mean to scare anyone but believe me cigarettes do eventually find your weakspot. All the best to you Lia and everyone on this site. Cheers.
