Today is the day! I've been taking Champix for the last 7 days and today is my quit day. So far it has been working great, whenever I light up and inhale I don't get any feeling from it, so why light up?

I've only smoked 3-4 the last view days, down from 25. My biggest downfall is that my husband continues to smoke. We've always smoked outside and just knowing he is going in the garden gives me the urge. We often sit outside, have coffee and smokes and a talk. Wish me luck!

Welcome Bine, you can do this and I won't wish you luck as luck doesn't get you quit. In order to succeed you just need to want to quit more than you want to smoke. Stop seeing those smokes like your friend and start seeing those poison sticks for what they really are. They give you nothing but rob you of so much, $$$$, health, time and dignity. Never mind about hubby, my husband still smokes also despite me encouraging him to quit. Quitting is something you do for yourself and trust me when I tell you once you beat the addiction the freedom is glorious. So firmly set your eyes on the prize and steel yourself, just keep busy and you can do other things, that don't involve smoking with hubby like going for walks😊

Hi Bine,

I had the same issue. I quit back on December 10. My husband has been quit for 3 weeks. Before he quit, I would get the same feeling when I knew he was going to the patio. But, I just reminded myself that I am a non-smoker and I love saying that.

Keep up the good work.

Leanne is spot on , and that kind of understanding goes far in this journey. You are your own person, and your desire to quit came from within yourself. Only you can see it through, and although you may have difficult days, the success stories you read are true and well worth the effort. You can quit this vile addiction, and you seem to be well on your way with good attitude. Not to be a gloat, but i kinda feel sorry for my friends who still smoke, or for those who wistfully say, oh it must have been hard. Take pride that you took the steps to at least try, and in my books, you will succeed. Positivity is key and you do hold it Bine.
