3 months in and I feel awful

I hit my 3 month mark today. I've had very few issues with not smoking, except my health seems to be getting worse! I had a 30-a-day habit for 35 years, so I've been pleasantly surprised by how (relatively!) easy I've found it to not smoke. But I seriously don't get how I could be feeling gradually worse the longer I've been quit!

Hello Annie, and it sounds like you have been very very good! Congratulations on beating the addiction and freeing yourself . I am sorry that you are not feeling well these days. I have my doubts as to their relationship to quitting smoking. This sounds like it has gone on long enough to concern you, that you should see a doctor. You didn't say if you had been or are still on an NRT and if that does not agree with you. We wish you well and hope you are soon reaping all the benefits of being a non-smoker.

I'm with ya Annie.
233 days, and I have been in the clinic for almost 70 of those!! Including breathing issues.
Heart is all green light. Lungs as well.
Every test imaginable and no answer!
There are definitely moments when I think what the point is, if it is this bad after quiting!!

I feel for you Annie the same with me but I believe that we are feeling things that havent worked in a long time!!! but I truly believe that it is the start of something wonderful!!! Hang in there!!!

Thanks guys, I'm glad I'm not the only one! I read somewhere that your hormones do a bit of a reshuffle after you quit and because I'm at that wonderful (sarcasm definitely intended) menopausal stage of life, I'm wondering whether all the symptoms have intensified. Anyway, I bit the bullet and am seeing my GP in the morning to discuss HRT, amongst other things.
I also did a bit of nosing around the internet last night and it seems we're not the only ones feeling awful after being a fair way into the quit process. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post URLs, but I found this particularly interesting (if the link works): https://www.cricketwalker.com/crap/

Hi Annie, I am feeling similar 2 months in, first 5 weeks great, last couple weeks, sore throat feel like cold and flu symptoms, sinus, sweats, but feel my symptoms delayed, also thinking hrt may be worth considering, all this aside though, skin looks better, no more constant throat clearing, so yeah, think it’s par for the course for some of us. But better than that black cloud following me around....

I'm starting to feel a bit more normal now that I'm reading others are having similar issues, Broncor. It really sucks that the first few weeks are a (relative!) breeze, then you suddenly feel like someone ran over you with a truck, doesn't it? I'll post back tomorrow after I've seen the doc and let you know what she says about HRT and general symptoms getting worse.
Hang in there - it absolutely HAS TO get better than this! 😂
