My thoughts after 17 days of quitting

I smoked my last cigarette on Jan 31st, 2019. I thought it would be impossible to quit smoking, but guess what!! I am succeeding. And it's not as difficult as I had thought it would be.
I do get cravings, but I am able to fend them off easily. In fact I am enjoying these moments of cravings. They are reminders of how cigarettes play with our minds. I don't want these ugly sticks to play with my mind anymore. I don't want to be a slave to them. So! Come on, You Cravings! Do your best! You can't force me to smoke anymore.
I know it's too early for me. Only 17 days!!! And I have a long way to go. My next target is 21 days (3 Weeks). I want to keep it simple. Week by week, I want to cover months and years. I also know that it's the game of just about 3-4 weeks. After that things would be really easy (as other ex-smokers have pointed out). In fact, I am already feeling like a non-smoker. I know if I can survive 17 days, I can survive rest of my life without cigarettes. The worst part is over. Even if it isn't, I am ready to fight the cravings. They are not as strong as they were on the day 1,2, & 3 of quitting. I am calm now. I don't feel like I have to do anything special to keep me away from smoking. These cravings are so weak that I find them funny.
I loved smoking. I still love it, but I know it's not good for me. Sometimes, we have to let go! This is what life is. It's like leaving behind a loved one due to certain circumstances. It's hard, but we always learn to move on! For cigarettes also, I know, we can easily learn to move on.
One Tip:
"Do not think quitting cigarette is hard. It's not. It's just that we love cigarettes so much that we don't want to let them go. But we should understand that--cigarette doesn't love us back. It hates us. Do you still want to love it?"

That is so true Dquitter. Smokes do not love us, did nothing for us, so why should we regret parting?
Your positivity shines and will carry you through this journey with ease. It really can be easy to quit with the right attitude.

Welcome Dquitter, WOW you are doing amazing, good on you for working it out and succeeding. You should feel extremely proud!!!! You are right in everything you say, I personally did not find quitting so simple, but good job👍 You've so got this😊

keep up the good thoughts, along with the will power. Smoking has never been attractive, we were convinced at one time it was, but then became addicted, shame on those adverts, and manufacturers of these products !
