Week 4

schedule 24 Jan 2019

I made the decision to stop smoking Jan. 1, 2019! I am 26 years old and I began smoking in 2016. From 2016 through the end of 2018 I began to notice changes in my health. I didn’t have to see a medical doctor, but I would notice that I was more tired, would be sick with a cold much longer, and experienced shortness of breath. I made the choice to give it my best and kick the habit. I am 23 days in and I feel good. I barely get cravings anymore, the headaches that I had early in the quitting stage, have gone away and I have a lot more energy. I feel proud of myself, I feel in control because I no longer “need” a cig and I am glad that I made the decision to quit. I stopped cold turkey because I was just sick of smoking. I began smoking socially, so for the first two weeks I didn’t hang out in places that I smoked heavily such as clubs or places that I would drink and smoke. The longer I go without smoking, the easier it is to be in those environments without having an urge to smoke. I was a chain smoker and I quit cold turkey. Start with self discipline and telling yourself “No” ! If I can do it, so can you! I wish you all the best of luck! :) I hope this helps someone.
