Is it possible to do 12 weeks on champix then have another course of them ?. Is it also safe to do that ?

Regd nurse(retired now) and as far as the info goes ..I believe u should set a date whilst on Champix and supposedly be able to stop if following the instructions...however I couldn’t do it on Champix x 2 attempts...am now on NRT and doing well (3rd attempt at them).. listen to what others say ..I have absolute faith in their stories ..especially learning the mind set x

Hi Hev548. Do you realize that you are ready to go cold turkey now?
You have lived as a non-smoker for 12 weeks now. Broken cigarette associations, with coffee, after meals, in the car etc. On Champex I understand that you are not supposed to be smoking for the last 10 weeks? My advice would be to take the leap . Make the choice of diving into cold water or wading in slowly inch by inch. The psychological cravings you hear most people have for weeks and months after the initial nicotine withdrawal should be past for you. With using Champex there is no hand to mouth habit to now break. I don't believe it is even nicotine based so there should be no withdrawal in that regard.
Read about the mindset. Understand how you became addicted. See how it held you captive for many many years. Think what it has cost you. See how you have coped and achieved an 11 week quit. Did you ever think you could do that? Give yourself a pat on the back. You did it. You did it on your own. No cigarette as a clutch to get you through the hardest thing you think you will ever have to do. But you have done it. Let the cigarette go out of your life and out of your mind. It no longer has a place.
