One year down
WOW smoke free for 1 year now OMG and $15,695 not spent on smokes OMG
After 34 years a pack a day I have SURVIVED and LIVED a whole year smoke free. Yes it has been hard and still experience daily challenges but I put it down to learning how to live as a non smokers. Non smokers experience stress and disappointments but they dont reach for a smoke and honestly smoking never solved any problems it just delayed the reaction.
So to all you newbies you can do it. When you read or hear that you need to be in the right mindset that is so true. In the past when i tried to give up I would always dwell on the fact that I cant have a smoke and I need just one then I will be alright. This time (I went on Champix) smoking was never ever an option any more and I celebrated every hour, day, week etc smoke free
Good luck everyone you can do it :)

So how do you deal with your stress now? i'm just 4 days in, and kinda worried about that! :(

Big Large Congratulations by the way! Hope i can say that, a year from now!
Lots and lots of deep breaths lol, I know it sounds weird and if anyone told me drinking water helps I would have said yeah right But I do drink water, breathe deeply and try to calm myself.
Someone told me early on that they got less angry and moody when they gave up smoking and it is true In the past at work when i got stressed andor angry i would go outside smoke and brew on it over and over again. Now i have to suck it up and move on. I find i am angry for a shorter period of time lol i am sure my friends and co workers agree it is just that they dont talk to me anymore hahahaha
Congratulations and thanks for sharing. I've made 212 days after 35 years smoking. Still can't believe I was a slave for so long when I look at the years but everyday know it only takes one to go back. I need to keep reading people do stay stopped.

Congratulations on a year! Hearing your experience inspires me to keep going. On day 3 so far.

Great job!! It is a huge accomplishment . I em 9 hrs away from 1 year with out smoking and drinking as well. It is so true that a person has to be mentally ready to quit. I smokes from my early teens up to 43 years old. I never thought it would be possible . The only reason I was succesful this time was out of fear. Fear for my life ! I couldn’t physically take one more drag. Great job again and congratulations .
