Day 2

On day 2 today. I have struggled terribly with getting a long term quit, I usually last a few days then when it gets too tough I cave and get cigs. So frustrated with myself and this addiction. I'm hoping with the support of other quitters I can finally free myself from this awful addiction. Looking for support and looking to give support to others.

Hi Juniper1221. I was exactly like you. I really didnt think Champix was going to work. I am actually gob smacked. I am on day 9 and 2 days smoke free. I really do not feel like smoking. The side effects are only temporary I keep telling myself. Just try and ride it out. Follow the instructions and you will know when you are ready to quit because you won't want a cigarette. Good luck with your journey. You can do this!

Welcome Juniper and congratulations on starting your journey to a new life as a non smoker. Firstly you need to realise you are in control here, it is your life and your destination so don't sound defeated as you can and are doing this. You need to see the smokes for what they really are, they are not your friend they give you nothing, it's just a poisonous drug of addiction. They steal your health, money, time and dignity. So it's up to you really if you want to be free from them, as you have to really want to quit to succeed and you can do it. Use some NRT to help you cope with the withdrawals if you need to. Also just keep busy, find a new hobby to distract yourself with. Stay strong and determined, goodluck😊

Thank you Robn, Leeann, and Mich69 for responding to my post. Day 2 was a successful day and am feeling a bit more confident. I'm using the patch and when it gets really tough lozenges but plan to just use the patch when this batch of lozenges are done. What tools or tricks are you all using to help with your quits?

Thank you for that tip. Have been practicing gratitude and thankfulness and have been excited to not smoke and create days without cigarettes. I really believe I can do it this time. I am going to do it. How far are you in your quit Robn?
