Anxiety

Hi all
I wanted to share my story with everybody because I am concerned of the symptoms i have been feeling since I quit smoking.
So basically 3 weeks ago I decided to stop smoking, I was ok for first week but after this I felt weak, tired and I get this anxiety.
I would really like to know if anxiety is normal when quitting smoking?
Its like some nervousness coming out of my body and then heart starts pounding, and i have to calm my self down by breathing.
I would love to stay away from cigarettes but I am a bit concerned about this anxiety, it interferes in my work as well, where there is a lot of stress everyday.
To add to this, I never had this anxiety issue
Also, I smoked for 11 years
Thank you all for helping out

Its common. Every one is different and I had my share of insomnia, anxiety, thrush (a fungal infection on the tongue) all due to the body reacting to nicotine deficiency. Nothing can happen to you by not smoking that is worse than smoking. Stay quit :-)

Hi Bobi welcome and congratulations on quitting, I agree with Anniruddha nothing worse can happen to you from quitting than smoking so don't let the withdrawals tell you anything different. Stay strong and focused and continue to use your breathing to ride out those cravings. If you do get too concerned about anxiety certainly seek medical advice but I guarantee you the solution is not in that poisonous tube of a cigarette.

Thank you so much for your words. I was just scared that I am not developing some kind of panic disorder since I never had this feeling before, but I will definitely see how it goes, and yes smoking is not the solutions for sure, Thank you Aniruddha and Leeann for taking time to reply to me =)

Hi Kitty-capricious
Thank you so much for your reply. I will definitely try breathing exercises and maybe some running =)
I wish you all the best!
