now or never

Hi All , day 63 ,cold turkey this time, since I work alone I can listen all day to Allen Carr`s easy way audio book, practically all day long, not sure it helps that much, lots of cravings still. somehow I`ve managed to drive past the store every morning to work instead of buying a pack of smokes,I started when I was 13 years old, quit at 31, started at 47 years old and I`m 60. So many of my generation had been seriously damaged from this addiction.

Well doñe David58... great personal achievement. I went cold turkey, not even listened or read the Alan Carr book, but found myself doing alot of soul searching, mind games, being selfish, pigheaded, determined and persevering with my ownself.
I had to believe in myself, believe that i could do this and come out the Victor and very much able to ditch the false friend that i was very much a slave to for about 45 yrs, i like many others are still alive and are a testament that we can survive in quitting smoking, its a very do-able excercise that we can achieve, if you want to achieve, its learning to let go of something that has always been there, its a great feeling that i have succeeded in quitting..
Day 63 for you is a great milestone with many more positive days to tick off the calendar, be positive n determind... you can do it....

I ❤️ Alan Carr. I think I’ll read it again as am only on day one of no ciggies and nearly finished the book. Will probably take in his words with a clearer mind set. Well done by the way. Can’t wait to be like you and free😀

Good job of kicking the habit, it's not easy as most people can attest. Such a powerful drug nicotine with strong withdrawal effects as I've learnt too.
A day at a time is the best way to cope I've found.

Thanks Mands,Red and Haydee, This smoking thing gets tricky when you start associating good and even bad times with a smoke!hopefully time will help.Right now it`s the reality of the danger to my health ,which keeps me safe, I take some strength from the fact that my relationship with nicotine is no different than everyone on this sight and many millions of other smokers."A day at a time" indeed!

Hi my name is Lee, please help... I’m at 42 days after 35 years cold turkey after having pneumonia but my gums are so so sore like ulcers but none there but soooo painful :(
