Hi ALL. Greetings from Canada. Smoked for 15 years (30 Y/O now) and wanted to quit completely before getting married. Specific goal was to not crave a cig on the wedding day. Quit May 14, 2018. Easy for the first 2 weeks. Week 3-7 Tension headaches and stress ensued... not sure if quitting stress or wedding stress lol.

Also switched diet to include brown rice instead of white rice. So i ended up losing weight. For the first few weeks I avoided alcohol because that's a definite trigger.

Now I'm starting to cough and hope to be coughing up tar soon (interested in experiencing and seeing it...lol). I have been avoiding the gym but will be attending to give my body and respiratory system some much needed exercise.

Main advice: when time slows down and the cravings set it, drink warm water and take deep breaths. Don't drink too much coffee and be conscious/mindful of your alcohol intake. Switch to brown rice so you don't get fat lol

Thank you for you post and advice. Very encouraging. Im day 5 on Champix and i still light up every now and then but can never finish it as it makes me feel sick. Its just the habit of lighting up with coffee and after meals mainly, but Mon is my quit day and i guess that week will be more difficult. Thank you for your tips :)
