6 Days smoke free

I'm now celebrating 6 long and painful days without smoking. I realize the first week is the toughest so i'm nearly over that burden. I've had plenty of temptations to deal with but the health benifits will be huge if i can stay on the path of smoke free. I'm going for a long walk today. Currently the Nicorette inhalator is getting me through some really tough times. I chew just a little bit of gum not alot. If you've quit in past and it hasn't gone to plan try the inhalator i want to give the quick mist a shot but i hear it's pretty expensive but people say it works.
Congratulations on not having smoked for 6 days. Many people say they find the first week after quitting the hardest, but what, exactly, is hard about it? What do you actually feel when you have the desire for a cigarette? If you look into this, it probably comes down to nervousness and anxiety and thinking a lot about smoking. Is this really intolerable or is it just a fear that it may become intolerable? You also say you’ve had plenty of temptations, but what, exactly is (or was) tempting about it?
If you look at it in this way – that smoking does nothing for you and non-smoking is marvellous – it may make it easier never to smoke again.

Go you good thing! I'm 59 days today, and it IS very hard, but getting easier every day - breathing and moving so much easier and smelling amazingly well (both me and other things :) ). Keep it up.

Hey Webbquit, I have quit so many times I am starting to think I am a pro ha ha. No judgments here just throwing out my unsolicited advice, which I assume you want or you wouldn't be here :-) If you want the cravings to stop being terrible stop feeding yourself nicotine. See the advice of the "health professionals" most of who have never smoked a day in their life is based on stats...and stats say there are two things happening when we smoke...the actual craving and the habit. They hope to break the habit first by giving you smoke aids and then work on the addiction later....but if you want the cravings to stop, STOP giving yourself nicotine, you can never break the cravings if you don't stop feeding them. When you get a craving, dismiss it, your a non smoker and give it no more thought than that, your a non smoker you can't have one cause you don't smoke. Once you dismiss the thought the craving will go away.
Hope that helps, good luck to you!!!

I'm going to come off the gum etc see how i go. I think my common temptations/problems happen on my payday so i'm going to get someone to help me with my shopping at least transport I just have to learn not to be tempted to buy smokes on days like that.
