Starting Day 12

Posted in Quit experiences
schedule 1 Jun 2018

Starting Day 12 of being nicotine free. It has been a tough journey. I feel like I have replaced the nicotine with anxiety. Hopefully these withdrawals will subside in the near future. I felt like I should be happy and excited, instead worrying about all the damage I have done from 13yrs of poison is overpowering it. Any advice on peace of mind, and the best way to be happy moving forward. Thanks all.

schedule 18 Jun 2018

Hi Callmegold! Congratulations on day 12 (but actually day 29 since I'm playing catch-up with the posts!) I'm finishing up Day 31 today and there have been days when I've taken them 1 minute at a time!! Anyway, keep in mind that the moment you took that last puff, your body is healing. Personally, I have high blood pressure and was trying to control it with medication --- but doing that and still smoking was NOT working! Since I became a nonsmoker, I'm happy to report that my pressure is down to the normal range (albeit still on my meds). My point is this -- don't let the smoke-demon keep you hostage!! My hobbies of knitting and crocheting and watching documentaries on the web keeps my mind clear of most anxiety, cravings, etc. Best of luck in your continuing the good fight!!!
