519 days of smoke free

I had been a chain smoker for 12 years. I tried all sorts of cigarette from taylor-made to rollies. I used to smoke even when i don't feel like smoking. On Christmas day in 2016 i drank and smoke with my friends for more than 10 hours. Can't remember how many packets i finished. That night when i got home and was gargling before i go to bed, because my wife wouldn't like the cigarette smell. I was shocked to see that my gums were bleeding badly. Next morning i woke up and threw all the cigarettes i had into the toilets. I rested for 2 days. On 28 Dec, i woke up and did a 5 min of meditation, though i didn't believe in meditation back then. As soon as i opened my eyes from meditation i felt like this is the right time to quit. I called my friends and asked if they were planning to drink that night. And yes they were drinking. I went to their place and drank few beers while all of them were smoking. I didn't touch the cigarette that night, the first time ever i didn't touch a cigarette while being with friends and at the same time drinking. Then I knew i finally made it. I almost forgot about it but this website reminded me that its been 519 days today.
My advice would be if you feel like smoking when you are trying to quit, just close your eyes and concentrate your focus on the front of your nostrils from where you breathe. That will help you to stay at the present, stop thinking. Do not let your mind go in the past or in the future for at least a minute or two. Then you will realise its not you or your inner soul who want to smoke but its that nicotine in your body that is asking for a cigarette. Then its up-to you whether you want to feed your nicotine content in your body with more nicotine. After a week of quitting, you will realise that you actually do not need cigarettes. How many years your are going to live, may be 70 years right? Can't you stay a week without a cigarette? And that's all it needs.
Thank you
