"Luke, the Force is strong..."

23 days smoke free but still getting so very anxious at those trigger times; mornings, after a good meal or glass of wine, up north at the cottage when relaxing after finishing chores or reno projects. I try to keep active distracted through work and doing reno projects but "Luke, the Force is strong". Anybody got some surefire tips on what to be drinking or eating lots of ? Things to be doing as distraction ? Thanks. Phil

Thanks Pegster, I will track down some Haribo here is Canada. Good luck with your journey too ! Phil

Hi Gandalf
You are going strong so don't let the 'Devil' beat you. It's like you have 2 guardian angels, one on each shoulder. Red says Smoke and white says You don't need it. I got some pamphlets from my Chemist and I have them handy to read when needed. It's interesting to see how many poisons are in smokes. Just reading that is enough to turn you off them so try that. I also found a few photos of lung disease hanging around the house kept me on track, disgusting. Just don't put one on the fridge. LOL! Another thing, stop thinking about smoking as it will take over and ruin a good day for you. Plenty of water and try sugarless lollies. I have tried so many times to give up and here's hoping, NO this time I will be strong and give up. I keep thinking of the amount of money I am saving each fortnight and that keeps me going.

Hi Gandalf. Is that cottage country in the north of Ontario? You are probably a neighbour of my friends Sam & Sel. Just get out on that lake and paddle like mad and leave the dreaded cigarettes out of reach. And say hi to my friends up there in the northern hemisphere. (Surely it is a small world and you all know each other.) Enjoy the lake and the sound of silence. Not having smoke lingering in the air is bonus.

Thanks a lot Lia; do you know the town that your friends reside at up north ? I am just north of Carnarvon which is north west of Haliburton.... I am 28 days smoke free with zero cheating; I am doing the Nicorette mist and gum but slowing cutting back on the need to use these "helpers" Up north I keep busy doing chores which helps and we are still stuck in the cold and winter months but the ice will be off the lake soon enough and then go canoeing. Thanks for commenting Lia. Thank also to Saggitarius but none too keen for the pictures of lungs put up around the house; it would scare the kids. Hahahahaha
