Quit

How I quit and will stay that way:

I think the key is to go back to start, think about the first time in your life when you smoked? was due to stress, casual fun, somebody offered you, or was just a random try, etc. Then think about how did you pick up the habbit of smoking? Did it give you pleasure and slowly you got hooked onto it...

Then think about your life before you ever smoked. You had stress, challenges, difficulties and fun! but you were not smoking? so what changed?!! that suddenly smoking became your thing?

Are you really not that strong enough that you purposely/knowingly have to rely on some silly nicotine trash to be fully functional? or forget about your worries? think about the strongest traits in yourself and appeal to yourself - "No means No"...

trust me symtoms of stopping will fade out, fill in your mind with positive activities like exercise, friends, family, running, music, and slowly forget about smoking! It is similar to breaking up with someone you used to love, right, in the beginning it's hard, you try to forget them, you can't, you are desparate. But as long as you make a promise to yourself - that you are going to get over it! you will.

Stay the course, and don't ever look back! make a commitment to yourself - no matter what comes, I won't touch it. Period.

God bless,

nik

Whatever works is great but don't give in to this addiction. Cigs are more addictive than most of us realize or thought of when we started. Heck, back in the 80s I had no problem quitting coke but quitting cigs was a lot more painful.
