Day 19 and finding it harder as time goes by. I thought it would be the opposite. Feeling sad.

Hi Annette, you’re in the dreaded week three! Over four years later I can still remember it as being the hardest part of giving up, and so many people on this site have said the same. I don’t know why it’s so hard, I know I found myself thinking “0k, I’ve quit, now what” and feeling really lost. Be strong and get through the next few days and it will slowly but surely get easier.

Ah thank you Red and Dot...I really needed to hear that. Started to feel like these cravings and thoughts would be with me for ever and I just have to learn to live with them. If there is light at the end of the tunnel, I can keep going.

Stay strong every minute without a smoke makes you strong.

Hi Annette...there certainly is a light at the end of the tunnel. Hard at first ...you will be pulling your hair out ...but after a mth it gets easier. If you serious and can make it to 90days...you will almost be out of the woods. I smoked for 52yrs and know what you are going through.Stay strong and fight even using nrt lozenges will help you. Cheers.

I must say this an excellent site,I joined with a bit of skepticism but it is inspiring me already.I am only into day 2 but am focused and have had the quit day planned for about 6 months .I am going on the words that the cravings are short lived and deal with each one at a time rather than focus on the big long adventure that awaits, thanks for your inspirational words and advice..Never Give Up
