OMG !!!!! This is so hard but when I really think about it - Seriously GypsyGal sort yourself out - you have achieved much harder things in life !!!!!!
Have to keep telling myself off - feel like am going crazy - Ggggggggrrrrrr
30 years of smoking and a recent visit to dentist to find I have severe gum disease has been the thing that finally made me get serious about quitting. Bad enough being on the wrong side of fifty but the thought of losing my teeth to smoking. No brainer - these fags have got to go and as hard as it is - full on cold turkey ! I think I'm going to do it - no scrap my last - I am doing it - Goodbye stinky disgusting expensive disease causing fire sticks - I have let u control me for too long but NO MORE !!!!!
Day 4 now. Have had a couple but nothing compared to the usual 25 a day !!! But still, one is too many. Putting myself in lock down tomorrow. If I can get through one whole day in this first week then I know I can do it !!!!!!

I no longer have gum disease. I cut down alot. With the extra money I had I was able to get my teeth cleaned by an oral hygienist every six months. My dentist also wanted me to use an electric toothbrush. I was frightened to make these changes. I spend thousands of dollars on my teeth. I look at it this way. My teeth decide what I can and can't eat. That in turn determines my longevity. Like being able to eat raw nuts or raw vegetables. Quitting is so- worth it. You won't regret your decision. Good for you.
