Never give up on giving up
Hello there,
I have made many attemps to quit over the years. My longest streatch was 7 months. I plan this attemt to be a permanent one. With the support of my non smoking, cigarette hating partner. Lmao.
I have learnt many things that can help with givingup in my many attemps.
NRT (patches, quick mist, etc) have been the most effective quitting tool for me.
Stress balls and fidget spinners give me something to distract from cravings.
Support apps and websites like this help alot. Simply typing on a phone or computer can keep your hands busy and less interested in smoking.
If you are a gamer and xbox or playstation can also be great for distraction from smoking.
Personally i have quit slogans and information sheets i have printed and laminated to hang on my walls as motivation.
I cleaned the balcony i smoke on hung a no smoking sign on the glass door and a sign saying "be brighter put down the lighter" next to where i sit at home to smoke. This is my own personal guilt trip to stop me smoking and to stay motivated. So far today it has worked.
I printed and laminated my own personal quit plan with a list of 25 things to do if i am craving. This hangs above my bed. I also have a book ready as a quit journal.
This time i am well prepared.
Armed with past quit attempt knowledge and a wealth of organization and planning.
I can do this.
I have been reading a book called never take another puff as motivation too.
So in the spirit of this amazing book.
Never take another puff!
Thank you for reading. Xox.
Good luck in your journey too.
