I AM AMAZED THAT I HAVE QUIT SMOKING

Posted in Quit experiences
schedule 7 Oct 2017

My original story was about how I had been smoking for 50 years and was terrified of losing my best friend - cigarettes. I am now on day 67 and feel better that I can remember. Before I quit I had to do breathing treatments 2 times a day. Now, I don't do them at all because I CAN BREATHE! Because I was determined and prayed for the strength to quit, I have made it this far. No more smoker's cough either. That was so nasty sounding and I can recognize that cough in others immediately. It hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be and I am completely determined to stay quit. I just want to encourage all of you who are just beginning this journey, that it is worth the struggle. The struggle doesn't last that long either. Good luck to you all.

Granny J.

schedule 7 Oct 2017

Hang in there Granny I know how it feels saying goodbye to your old friend Nic, I've also lost a few real friends as well a couple died, ones in Hospital after a stroke not going home Hang in there luv and stick with it.

schedule 8 Oct 2017

Hi Shelley,

I wanted to tell you that besides the breathing treatments, I also have COPD & Emphysema, been in the hospital 4 or 5 times with Pneumonia, had chronic bronchitis, constant coughing & spitting. Very Gross. I thought I had already done all the damage to my lungs and it wouldn't make any difference whether I smoked or not. NOT TRUE! Two weeks after I quit, you would never know I had any of these problems. I actually think the smoking caused ALL of them. It is NOT too late. You just quit and see the difference in how you feel. I even think my skin is younger looking and a better color on my face. I never thought I would be telling someone else to quit, but I am a believer. Please don't give up on yourself.

Hi Granny1. Your story is so inspiring, but gets buried over time. Why not post your story as i have asked others to do with your method used, most helpful hint, side affects if any, and how you would change anything if you could do it over again to make it easier.

Congrats on your success. Let others know if is not just a prayer or dream but a reality if they invest the time and desire.
