Understanding symptoms when quitting

This is more of a question than a hint or tip. I've been smoke free for 13 days today. I was a smoker for nearly 17 years averaging about 7-10 cigarettes a day. I quit suddenly after finding out I had pneumonia. Antibiotics for a week and a half, lungs felt better than they have in years. No cough, I could actually breathe! Fast forward to Saturday (day 10) I started experiencing major allergy symptoms. Itching eyes, endless sneezing, nose became stuffy. Sunday morning woke up feeling run down, sore throat and a slight tightness in my chest. Same feeling Monday and now today is Tuesday, I participated in my martial arts class as I usually do but had to use my inhaler, found myself coughing a dry unproductive cough and now this evening my chest feels quite tight and almost a burning sensation. I'm trying to figure out if any of this is a common side effect of smoking cessation?

Thank you Red-67,

I've started having a productive cough which is typical with a cold/or just my lungs finally clearing crap from the pneumonia and not smoking. I feel better, no more burning in my chest. Allergies do give me a lot of issues this time of year as well. Still feeling better than when I was a smoker and happily pushing forward!
