It's still Monday....

I was so discouraged with myself this morning for failing on my day 1 (today is Monday) but this afternoon I realised that I can still quit today and will just finish this pack of 25, then quit and it will still be Monday. This has cheered me up.
So far I feel like I am just writing to myself but that's okay because it's probably quite boring for anyone else to read so far. I am getting heaps of encouragement from reading other people's stories and am very grateful for the honesty and grit of people on this site so thank you!

Hi Jellycake, When I was in the first 3 months of quitting, I came to this site daily to read stories posted by others AND also to read my own postings. Reading my own postings made me realize how far I had come and that I had gotten through the tough period I was experiencing. Although I hope this doesn't happen, if I should slip and return to smoking I will always have my postings to reflect on and be a reminder that I can do it again. Good luck and stay strong.
You can quit. When you really want to quit. Make a list of all the reasons you want to quit. Or a list of what you will buy with the money you save. Put it in your pack and every time you want to smoke read the lists. Take a walk ( Leave smokes at home) Meditate. distract your mind. wanting to smoke only lasts a few minutes and anybody can make it a few minutes.
