5 days smoke free!

Posted in Quit experiences
schedule 4 Aug 2017

Gosh. Okay 5 days in, I must admit I never thought I'd see the day i actually stopped. (40 smokes a day smoker, or ex smoker should I say!)

Second time on champix, first time I ran the entire cycle whilst still smoking (oops), but I also didn't really want to quit then either. This time however, I feel I have a life to live and that's exactly what I'm doing to do. But the cravings! Oh the cravings..

I'm currently nearing exams, (Oh the stress) and recently chopped a chunk of my thumb off (move your thumb when you're chopping wood guys!), my two stress relievers in life are smoking and the gym (ironic hey?), without either of them I'm going stir crazy with anxiety and cravings, any suggestions on these? Would be much appreciated! (Especially by those around me hahaha).

Happy quitting x

I myself am at 16 days today. I thought it would be maddening and that Id give up and go back. But what helped me was really looking into the benefits of smoking and what it does for you. It has you convinced its relieving your anxiety when in reality its actually the CAUSE of it and when you smoke its making the anxiety it caused go away. Spend more time at the gym and see that quitting will only benefit you instead of hurting you!. I smoked for almost 20 years and Im only 32 thats more than most of my life in the grips of nicotine! You have one life to live. Whose controlling it you or cigarettes?!
