still ok

Hi All
Still ok at 36 days (i think). It's been pretty tough sometimes but those hardest moments are getting fewer throughout the day and seem to pass more quickly. The process of letting go is becoming easier, although i am really happy to be using patches as NRT at the moment. For me, this really helps as does the simple but excellent quitbuddy on my phone which I highly recommend. My partner is also quitting which makes it easier. Hope everyone is doing well and keep trying! This is probably my 4th attempt to quit in the last 10 years, but this time i am far more committed having seen my mum die last september having been a smoker for most of her life. I have smoked for about 30 years, and quite heavily...this site really helps me see that it is possible and doable. A great and worthwhile challenge...I keep looking forward to one year from now as a non smoker and how much healthier and wealthier i will be. Thanks all.

Hi Katie,
That's sensational that you're still on your way!! It doesn't matter how you get there, what matters is remaining smoke free. If nrt is working for you then that's great. It sure has worked for me. I did find at the 3 month mark that some cravings hit hard at random times. I read an interesting article not long ago, something called Very Well and the author of the smoking articles were by Terry Martin. He said that it isn't unusual for them to come and go throughout the journey for a lot of people. He went on to explain how at first, we are all so focused and so proud of ourselves and that in time, that's when some people can thing they can try having that just one cig and most of us know that if we give in to that, it can send us back to square one.
As you've mentioned this app or any other app can be great reminders of how easy it can happen to slip. Awesome that your partner has joined you in your plight because that really does help.
Good on you, I'm very happy to read that you're still going strong.
