Started Smoking again

Posted in Quit experiences
schedule 18 Jul 2017

I quit for more than a year. I was feeling really good. Then I went out at night with some friends and was offered a cigarette (this was not the first time I was offered and I refused in the past but somehow I gave in that particular time) but now I am back on the cigs and I hate it. I did not follow my own advice to stay away from that first cigarette. Thats all it takes - just one - and you can be back again so easily. My little son has found out that I started again and I don't want him to see me smoke, so thats 1 good reason to stop. The other reason is that I'm really fit now and smoking does not mix with fitness. I think I have enough new reasons to stop!

OK , so this is day 1 for me. Arghhh!!! I remember how I did it before, so I just need to stay away from the first cigarette and white nuckle it for a while until I start feeling good again.

If I could do it before, I can do it again! I'll probably be back here more often now talking about how its going.

Hi Manchild

Too bad you erred. But welcome back and how good is it that you know you can return to this site, probably where you stated, knowing subscribers here totally understand your situation and appreciate your honesty. Who said it was easy anyhow? You have done everyone a favour by reminding us that just one puff leads to 2, then 3 then before one knows it. Habit is restored! Hope you will wipe the slate clean and try again. Do it just for yourself, not anyone else.
