Day 9

On Day 9 now... haven't touched a cigarette! I even had a beer over the weekend and it didn't make me want to smoke... but perhaps if I had more than one I might have lost my focus ;-)
I'm finding myself needing to use the NRT a lot less often than last week, however cravings are still coming every day. It's becoming more manageable. I honestly didn't believe that it would get easier when I was around Day 3 or 4. I know I still have a loooong way to go. I just hope I can keep this up :)

Hi twentysix,
First congratulations on your 9 days smoke free!!!
The fact that you managed not to smoke when you were drinking is really impressive.
For me this was the hardest part of quitting smoking.
And you will see that in a couple of months you will enjoy your beer even more without smoking( even if you do not believe it right now :D).
Tomorrow i will be exactly one year smoke free and i can tell you one thing for sure:
It gets easier with time.
Keep up the good work,

9 days is excellent work and it's so great that you're noticing that you don't need as much nrt. Just be careful not to jump to quick though. That must have been a good feeling not having to smoke whilst you enjoyed a beer.
I'm sure when you have you're weekly check in that the counsellor is going to be thrilled you've managed what you have.
We are all in this ride together and will win it.

Ivan24 - CONGRATULATIONS ON ONE YEAR! I can't wait until I'm where you are.

Kim26 - Thank you! Doing my best not to jump the gun - if I don't use enough NRT I am waking up in the middle of the night craving so I'll make sure to be more careful :P
I have my weekly check in today :)
