"Nearing first year"

Hi all just on 310 days today and indicator shows a $9000 saving. Just incredible that one can waste so much money and "what for"? Cravings and urges have really diminished and breathing thank God much better....no more wheezing. Yes the habit lingers on but so what.?..try to keep busy. This is definitely a very hard journey but when i take in the posts from some of the long term quitters e.g. Dobbin, Lia etc. i become more and more determined to one day be up there with the elite group. So yes whether you are 1day or 1yr quit then stick with it. It is a very satisfying achievement whe you have built up a fairly long term. All the best. Cheers.

Huge Congratulations to you Johnnie, how wonderful to have reached the milestone you have and I'm so very happy for you!!!
Agree with absolutely everything you have written so won't double up on what you've already said.
Above all, I feel so sincerely happy for you in that you're breathing is so much better and also the wheezing.
That right there is a real credit to you!!!
You made a choice and now you are reaping the benefits and I'm favouriting this story because you're an inspiration 😀

Thankyou very much Kim.....nice to have fellow quitters like you on this site.Bye for now.

Hey Johnnie. Fantastic achievement and a real hero. It won't be too long before the ants in the pants disappear. The year mark for me was so fantastic as I have never been smoke free for that long since I was 13. For me the habit feelings and cravings declined dramatically after the first year and hopefully will also for you.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. You all are a great bunch of people even though we may never meet. Good luck to all. Cheers.

We'll guys I was a non smoker for 29 days and then fell of my perch in the last 3 day....it has been my first attempt, have smoked for 56 years....oh well back to the drawing board and will start again tomorrow because I really do what to give up so bad...wish we luck

Homebody, do not be hard on yourself. As long as you arise and start again. Smoking is a monster but it can be tamed if you put in full determination. I smoked for 52 yrs and know it's not easy to part with. So, give it your best shot and good luck.

Hi Johnnie. Congratulations. Absolutely, stick with it. Stay on that band wagon. Easy to fall off. More satisfying to rack up the "miles". To be paid a wage rise of $20 to over $30 something a day x 7 days... Say no more... Enjoy your $200 a week pay rise and enjoy the opportunity to live longer and to spend it where you reap more enjoyment... Proud of you.

Way to go Johnnie. I am rooting for you, so keep up the good work. Take care and cheers.

Hey Johnnie, I feel inspired by you. Stop day for me (again) is Thursday. I've done this for way too long. Stay strong and pass it on.
Thanks
Suki
