cravings

Week 3 and the cravings are really bad this morning first time I have felt them so strong, yesterday was the same and I nearly gave in but didn't I said to myself 13 days smoke free have one and you are on the rollercoaster again and controlled by nicotine and decided very quickly it wasn't worth it. Hopefully they get less and less as time goes on.

Hi gools,
Those cravings are a pain in the backside and this might just be me but I used to find at your stage they'd hit like mad for a bit but then I'd sail through the next week so I'm glad I never gave in.
That still happens from time to time but I believe that we get better at fighting them.
Hope I've made sense.
Just remember, we're all in this together and it's good you posted how you're feeling.

My mantra was ' N.O.P.E' ...Not One Puff Ever. I had that stuck on my pc, on various places around home. It helped me and as we all know, it only takes one puff and we're back again. Congrats on your 13 days, keep up the good work.
Cheers :D

Great advice there Flora because it can be tough and hard at times but like you've pointed out and I love the N.O.P.E!! I say things like that to myself also. Cravings can be oh so very real but it's how we deal with them that's the most important. I also imagine how I'd feel if I lit up and I know I'd be so disappointed. For me I kinda look at it this way... If a person has a bit of weight to lose, it's unrealistic to expect a person to drop the weight suddenly and we have to find a way to adjust to eating healthy and when we start, we learn more and more what works and what doesn't. Same in a way for smoking, it's about learning new ways to cope with certain things. It takes time but we do get better at it.

Hi Gools,
Just stopped by to see how you're feeling? Please feel free to vent away all you like. That's what this site is for, the good, the bad and the ugly.

Hi all,
Thank you all for your comments they are such a help and they got me through that awful day, haven't been online as have been away for a funeral and what a challenge that was but got through without a problem, everyone asked me coming out for a smoke I felt so good when I answered no I don't smoke anymore I have stopped. Getting through the cravings much easier now as after reading the comments have used those comments as tools thank you everyone and yes we can do it.

Oh Red,
I just need clarification on one thing? I can't see anyone here that wrote they live in fear of N.O.P.E?
Flora used it to help her through and I love the idea of using it so I'm just confused as to why you asked if you want to live in fear of N.O.P.E??
