Champix No Good

So years ago (about 10 of them) I easily quit smoking on Z yban (for about a year) Being told that Champix is the more modern, updated version with less side affects so since i'm ready to quit again I saw my doctor to be prescribed some. Last week (week 3) was the first week I'd started to notice anything helpful regarding the cigarettes (i was noticing more how much it smells and they'd started to taste a bit funny though not at all unbearable and certainly not enough to deter me since I was still getting a "hit") On Thursday my workday and living with my own head was awful, I felt so angry & snappy and it took all of my self control not to take it out on anyone so I took Friday off thinking I'd better not be around people. Well being on my own was bad enough - so incredibly moody, 100 times worse and more cranky than p m s! Saturday I decided that I couldn't live like that and would rather keep smoking if that's how it was to be for the full course of Champix with minimal effect on actually assisting me to quit smoking. I've at the very least halved the amount that I smoke though this is mostly attributed to my vapouriser. I hope my doctor will prescribe me Z yban in a week or two since I'd much rather have headaches, dry mouth & nausea than live with the head case that Champix was turning me into! I will not give up, I'll just find another way. Best of luck to everyone, take care

Hi Red, nice to read your posts again. You right about this quitting all being a "mind set" as after 10mths my urges are very ,very minimal and generally switch off after a couple minutes. About the vaper e cigs it seems lately i have been seeing a fair amount of people with them. I spoke to one fellow and he told me with approx 10% of nicotine added to the quantity of the flavored juice it does give a kick. But, he did say too that vaping was hard to quit. I personally feel one can become hooked on vapers but then again it is the individual's choice. My recommendation for urges especially in someone's early days of quitting would be a quarter of a 4mg lozenge (nrt) when needed. Anyway these are my thoughts. Cheers.
