Champix 11 days

Hey guys, I have been taking champix now for 11 days, I haven't been able to stop smoking in this time. I have noticed I don't get the same hit from smokes anymore but makes me smoke 2 in a row. I haven't had any of the listed side effects and I am really concerned that it's not doing what I thought it would. Am I waiting for some huge feeling that says dont smoke or do you just throw away the smokes and hope the meds keeo away withdrawals, I am desperate as really want to kick this foul and expensive habit

Thanks for the reality check red. My brother and his wife quit using champix and said I will hate the taste of smokes after a few days. Silly me was waiting for that feeling. You're right in saying bite the bullet and quit. Thanks for the prompt reply

Thanks red, definitely willing to give anything a try. I did read the alan carr book a few years ago but might open back up. Appreciate your advice

hi im on day 8 of champix and today i have not smoked, it has worked for me but i think it was because my health got so bad from smoking when i had a bad cough for 3 months. my doc said most likely to be COPD! You want more motivation to quit?? look COPD up. You can do it and so can I. Well wishes to you :)

Thanks thisisit. I have made a promise do myself as of 3pm this afternoon that I will not smoke as of that moment. Its only 5.36 and find myself counting down. As I said earlier post I have been waiting for some huge impact or feeling that champix was meant to do. I will continue taking the medication and quit on the 14th day. Better late then never I guess. I am very hesitant and am already missing the smokes. Congratulations on making the decision to quit and its awesome you're smoke free on day 8. Keep up the great work and take it one day at a time

Hi and all the best with your attempt to quit. Fear held me back and my only regret is that I didn't do it ages ago. I used to put it off but then one day just decided if I leave my mindset as it is, I'll never do it. I can't take Champix but so many have had success with it.
Good luck and I guess if you're still struggling, perhaps call the Quitline? They were awesome for me.
