Week 2

Hi guys still going strong, few hours away from 10 days but, just wondering if anyone has experienced aches and pain or is it old age!!! Can hardly walk today....hope you are all going well

Hi homebody,
I have had some aches and pains, too, but I put it down to the fact that I am suddenly way more active than I was when I smoked. (It seems funny to say that, I feel like such a non-smoker, now)
In the first couple of weeks, some things I experienced were restless legs keeping me awake well past my bedtime and a seriously sore rib cage. I think the ribs were sore from coughing, but I've hardly coughed at all the past couple of weeks.
I totally agree with Red, Allen Carr's book worked for me.
Each day I am discovering something new to enjoy!
Hope you do too.
Zandy

Hi zandyness and red-67......I have read allen carr book many time before I Quit smoking....great book also have his DVD I also found on youtube a doctor who specialised in cancer he's name was arther weaver. He had 1-5 sessions on quiting smoking cold turkey. I watched all of the sessions in one n

Then I followed the program one at a time each night for 5 session and I went cold turkey with the audience to....He's thoughts are the same as allen carr...it was great to go through the session as I quit....please check it out because it might be of help to many people that are trying to quit. P.s thankyou both for your great support.

So hard today, craving is bad. Trying to fight it , I do not want to give in

Hi Homebody,
Try really hard not to give in. Do you have
a copy of those sessions or a book or
anything to try and help you?
I know you're going cold turkey and I hear
it can be quite tough at the start but
perhaps try and drink water or do
something you find is very soothing.
Do you have game you can play to try
and distract you.
Really hope you make it through.
Fingers and toes crossed for you.

Kim thanks for your concern....still nicotine free... think I am over that craving but was really hard today and stressful

Hi there,
Oh I'm so glad you replied. I signed back
in as soon as I could to hopefully see
how you were going.
I thank you so much for replying and
I'm so proud of you for finding the strength
to hold on.
Some days or times can be real tough no
matter what method we choose. We are
on the same path though and that is to
become or remain smoke free.
I still have the occasional moment even
50 days in but I know how disappointed
with myself I'd be if I gave in.
Stay sweet and strong x

Thanks Kim I would be so upset if I had caved in ....I started smoking when I was 15years now I am 72 years young and it is the first time I have tried to quit

Yes, I'm sure you would be upset if you caved in, I feel the same way.
Congratulations young lady for your strength and determination.
