Is this going to hang around?

schedule 18 Apr 2017

I'm 38yrs old and have been a smoker for 23yrs.

I'm on the 2nd week of the Champix program. It's day 3 smoke-free for me and already I'm questioning reality.

On Easter Sunday (Day 1) I had zero energy, felt like the flu had hit me full force.

On the Monday (Day 2) I had the runs all day and couldn't leave the house, in addition to no energy.

Today I can't stand or sit up without falling over due to severe vertigo. I need to sit in place or lean against something for 2-3min before I can move. This is in addition to having no energy.

This morning I had a dream where (in the dream) I woke up on the other side of the country with no memory of how I got there. I made some phone calls and found out I'd been missing for 5yrs.

Then I woke up.

Is this whole period going to follow the same trend? Is it just the Champix? Is it withdrawals? How long is this crap going to continue?

Note: I've been on Champix twice before, both times pre-2012, with no side effects whatsoever.

Never used Champix, but the low energy is something I am familiar with. I'd be talking to the doctor if I were you. Sounds like it might be more than just quitting symptoms.

Hi I am on champix as well, I'm into the second week. Everything u have experienced I have aswell except for the vertigo part, but if you are anything like me it will pass in a few days. I find if I drink lots of water throughout the day the side affect aren't as bad. Good luck x

Yep misslaura, the vertigo went away today. The energy is still low, but no other side effects anymore. Not even weird dreams last night - got a full nights sleep. Yay!
