Today will be my 7th day cold turkey...going good but today is very hard as I would like to have just one but I am trying to stay strong

Hi Homebody you are brave to go cold turkey. Perservere for another 7 days and believe me you WILL be on your way. First fortnight the toughest especially without nrt. Good Luck.

Hi Homebody, don't give in, all your hard work would be for nothing. Stay strong and think positive, goodluck x

Hi Homebody,
Congratulations on going cold turkey, very
hard to do but definitely can be achieved
if you're in the right mind set and in a good
place mentally.
The cravings will lessen over time.
Stay strong and all the best.
I admire anyone who can quit that way.

Thank you for all your support....when to doctors today and was told blood pressure was dangerously high so went on a bit of a low thinking maybe it was because I quit smoking..... but I have settled now and will continue to quit. Lol

Hi Homebody :-)
Red and I are both cold turkeys so we're on the same side of the river as you. What Red says is true, seven days kills it!! Good on you. The trick is to remember that nicotine does absolutely nothing positive for you. It does increase anxiety, create high blood pressure and all the other things you already know about. Before I quit, I was on a regime of having three sessions of ten deep breaths every day to try and control my blood pressure. After I quit, I forgot for a couple of weeks in the euphoria of being free from the 'nicodemon' (as my mate Red calls it) and I had my blood pressure measured whilst on a visit to my specialist. He took it, and then tried it on the other arm. I was a bit stunned and was quick to mention that I had forgotten to do my breathing exercises. He was a bit taken aback and then he told me that my blood pressure was absolutely perfect. It's the first time I've been told that. Mostly I'm used to hearing it's either 'a bit high' or 'quite high'.
I'm sure yours will return to normal in no time :) Keep on keeping on!

Thanks red-67 and zandtness yesterday was a challenge but I won!!! Today is a new day and I feel stronger today.....thanks again for your support if I have a weak moment I will read again both your replies

Hi Homebody,
As Zandyness and Red i also think that the best way to quit is COLD TURKEY.
Red mentioned something really important about not changing your daily routine.
Go out, drink, be around smokers. Even if you slip you will come back even stronger.
''A winner is just a loser who tried one more time''
I am almost 11 months without a single puff and i can tell you that i've never been more happy. Keep reminding yourself that smoking does not give you anything.
We have to remember that smoking is the problem, not the solution!!!
Keep up the good work,

You cold turkey quitters are tough. I think I probably should of done it that way too. Your in the battle and I'm betting on you to win. Stay tough.

Mike I am so positive today....I will win this battle no one tells me what to do,this nicotine monster will die!!!very shortly.

Hello Homebody. Hope you are enjoying the enormous support on this site from fellow quitters. Cold Turkey! Go for it.

Lia this is a great site and cold turkey is the only way to go....you have a great night

Congratulations homebody. I went cold turkey then 'boosted' with some hypnosis at day 10. Now if I feel cravings I use Tapping to help.
I'm going well and intend to keep going well - nicotine is well out of the system... just those 'habits' to break and get out of the mind!

What is tapping caftans ....cold turkey is the way to go,if your mind is in the right place and you really want to Get rid of thr nicotine monster then is easy.....I started smoking at 15years and I am now 72 years young and first time I have tried to give up...going strong 8th day.

Red Imagine, having all that money that we spent,I we would be millionaires 🤑 !!! :)
