You may want to enter "TheOldPhart" (without the quote marks) in the Search entire site box, and read through the stories I have written so far. I am 70 years old and smoked for 53 years. I quit cold turkey and on July 12th I will mark 5 years as an ex-nicotine-addict. Read my stories and suggestions to see how and why I quit. It just might help you.

Yeah! Good to see you return to this forum. I am 3 months short of 2 years. Have read and appreciated your posts in the past. Am enjoying getting to know the new me... Still can't believe I did it cold turkey. Was obviously over being an addict for nicotine. Was well and truly ready to try something new...

Hey Red....as i said before your dilemma is very much similar to mine. I find the bloody HABIT frustrating not the urges. I could be talking with friends and my hand reaches for pockets automatically....know what i mean? Nearly 8 mths for me.....takes some people longer than others to break the habit........but we must stand our ground and not be ruled by our past smoking. Focus on how better one feels and the money saved.....especially after 8mths. So, my friend stick to it....cause one day we will be laughing at what we went through. Cheers.
