Terrible cold and sore throat

What's happening to my body? I have been 66 days without a cigarette, quitted cold turkey when suddenly I am having the worst cold in history with a very painful sore throat, I am wondering if this is normal? I have never been as sick as I am, I cannot sleep and I cannot breath properly, is there anyone out there with the same problem? Thank you in advance!!
